PARENTAL BULLETIN – 9 SEPTEMBER 2022

MESSAGE FROM THE HEADTEACHER

Dear Parents and Carers,

Firstly, I would like to officially welcome you back to a new academic year at Trinity High School and Sixth Form Centre and a special welcome to our new Year 9 parents and carers, who are reading this bulletin for the first time. The Year 9 students have been an absolute credit to themselves, their families and the school this week and have started their high school experience in the most fantastic manner, demonstrating hard work, effort and energy in lessons and fantastic values and behaviour outside the classroom.

We also welcomed back our Year 10,11,12 and 13 students and it has been nothing short of a pleasure working with them over the past few days. I would like to wish them every success with their education this year. Alongside our wonderful staff, I will be ensuring that this year is a huge success for them and that they live our core values of HAPPINESS, EXCELLENCE, AMBITION, RESPECT AND TOLERANCE each day.

I am incredibly proud to announce that this week, our new school website went live at http://www.trinity.worcs.sch.uk. The new website has been developed to reflect how special the Trinity community is, whilst being functional and user friendly for parents, students, staff and the wider community. I hope you like the site and I would welcome any feedback to office@trinityhigh.net if you have a moment.

Also on Friday of this week, the whole Trinity community paused at just after 10.45am and congregated on one of the playgrounds to pay our respects, mourn and celebrate the life of Queen Elizabeth II who passed away on Thursday aged 96. We held a short service which included a short reflection from myself, a two minute silence, an applause moment and a poem read by Kyle, one of our sixth form students. The silence was immaculately observed and the whole ceremony was both fitting and emotional. I wanted it to be an occasion for both reflection and celebration of the Queen’s remarkable life and it was an incredibly powerful and poignant service. We will continue to play our part in the national mourning of the Queen in the coming days and I will send further information in due course regarding any adjustments to the school week for the state funeral.

I look forward to sharing news from the school regularly on our social media platforms and on our new website. Thank you to all parents/carers for your continued support.

WHAT PARENTS NEED TO KNOW ABOUT ROBLOX

Roblox is one of the most popular video games on the market. By 2020, the game’s makers were claiming that more than half of children in the USA play it. As a ‘sandbox’ title, Roblox offers a huge amount of creative freedom: it lets players create their own gaming experiences with the Roblox Studio to build custom levels and games, which can then be shared with other players online. Roblox fosters creative thinking and enjoys a robust online community of fans. #wakeupwednesday – Please see attached information
