Parental Bulletin – 6th December 2024
MESSAGE FROM THE HEADTEACHER
Dear Parents and Carers,
It has been a very busy week at Trinity in the curriculum and beyond. It is certainly feeling festive around the school and a lot of work has gone into decorating the many Christmas trees across the site, which are making the school feel really Christmassy.
This week there has been numerous lessons, events and broadening horizons opportunities that have certainly demonstrated our pledge of an EXCELLENT education for all. Lessons have been an incredibly high quality as always, but one of the highlights has been visiting the Year 11 practical food examinations, where students were demonstrating incredibly high levels of culinary skills. Our assembly theme this week was safeguarding, and members of the senior safeguarding team delivered assemblies on the theme of online safety and provided students with additional tools to keep themselves safe. I am incredibly proud of our safeguarding provision and the team that sit behind it. If you ever require any support regarding the safety of your child, please contact Mrs Chinn, our designated safeguarding lead.
This week one of my highlights was learning that Owen Roycroft, one of our Year 12 students, who has won the regional cadet of the year competition which is a huge accolade. He is now through to the national finals on New Year’s eve and we are bursting with excitement to see how Owen does. Good luck Owen from all your Trinity family.
In other news across the school, Jas, Jessica, Jacob and Jack have excelled in the History curriculum and become Historian of the month and Trinity’s trampolining team were represented at this year’s school games trampolining competition where they performed exceptionally.
Please can I remind parents/carers of our unceasingly high expectations around uniform. This term as the temperature drops, it is important that students are able to keep warm to focus on their learning. We encourage students to wear the Trinity v neck jumper at this time of year to stay cosy. This is optional and should be worn IN ADDITION to the blazer and not replace it. If students wish to wear a coat, then that is fine, but it must not be a hoodie or tracksuit top and it must be removed in lessons. In terms of appearance, students must wear black, formal polishable shoes and long nails and piercings are not allowed in school.
We appreciate parent/carer support to ensure our students adhere to our uniform and appearance policies.
Please can I also remind parents/carers of a few dates for your diaries:
Thursday 12th December – Christmas Carol Concert
Tuesday 17th December – Rewards Evening
Thursday 19th December – Last Day of term (school will finish just before lunchtime and time to be confirmed)
I hope you all have a lovely weekend.
Mr Ford
CONTACTING SCHOOL
As many of you will have heard on the school answer phone message and to re-iterate Mr Ford’s comments, we receive an exceptionally high volume of calls on a daily basis. Unfortunately, we do not have the capacity either to answer a high percentage of these calls or to listen to all voice messages left. We would therefore urge you to email the relevant person/people you wish to contact. Not only does this ensure that we have a written trail of communication between you and school, but it also means that the person you wish to speak to is guaranteed to receive your message.
