Parental Bulletin – 12th December 2025
MESSAGE FROM THE HEADTEACHER
Dear Parents, Carers and Students,
Happy penultimate Friday of term and I hope everyone in the Trinity family has had a good week. This is the last parent bulletin of the 2025, with the newsletter being the last formal communication next week. Thank you for your positive feedback on the parent bulletin and its content. This week has been a typical penultimate week of Autumn term where traditional academic educational activity meets the craziness of Christmas. We were delighted to welcome so many Year 11 parents/carers to parents evening last night, for what is a very important evening in the Year 11 calendar. We hope that parents, carers and students benefitted from the evening and understand the key practice that they need to do, to perform better in the second mock exam series in late January.
Trinity High School and Sixth Form has always placed a high degree of value on the power of sport to change lives of young people, so you can imagine our delight when this week we learnt that we achieved the School Games GOLD MARK for the 2024/25 academic year. This award recognises Trinity’s commitment to youth sport and as part of the application we were able to showcase how we encourage mass participation in sport, competition in sport and partnerships with the community. This award and recognition wouldn’t be possible without the dedication and commitment of our exceptional PE team – we are so lucky to have them; congratulations on this national recognition from us all at Trinity.
This week, we also had our Christmas Jumper day today to raise money for Save the Children. Year 10 and 12 have been busy completing their assessments and there have been various careers trips to HOW college. Thank you to Mrs Kenderdine for facilitating these.
Every week, we remind parents/carers and politely ask, that you work with us to ensure that your child is in school every day, unless they are extremely unwell or there are other exceptional circumstances. We would also ask that you work with us to ensure they arrive well ahead of 8.40am and that they present to school each day in immaculate school uniform. In Autumn Term, full school uniform is expected, and appearance should be immaculate. Facial piercings are NOT permitted, and students should understand that blazers are compulsory and jumpers are optional. We will only accept the Trinity sweatshirt or knitted v neck available from Orchard clothing. As it gets colder, the rule is coats are fine to wear but must be worn OVER the blazer and not instead of it. Hoodies or tracksuit tops are not permitted.
If you would like support or guidance with any of these things, please speak to the relevant Form Tutor, Head of Year or Pastoral Manager and we will be happy to support you.
I am looking forward to sharing news from around the school next week.
Mr Ford
CONTACTING SCHOOL
As many of you will have heard on the school answer phone message, we receive an exceptionally high volume of calls on a daily basis. Unfortunately, we do not have the capacity to answer a high percentage of these calls or to listen to all voice messages left. We would therefore urge you to email the relevant person/people you wish to contact. Not only does this ensure that we have a written trail of communication between you and school, but it also means that the person you wish to speak to is guaranteed to receive your message.
