PARENTAL BULLETIN – 2 FEBRUARY 2024

MESSAGE FROM THE HEADTEACHER

Dear Parents/Carers,

As you may have seen both in the press and our internal communications, this week has been a wonderful one in that we have been nominated for secondary school of the year in the Worcestershire Education Awards 2024. At Trinity we are always striving for excellence for all our students, but to be surprised by the notification that we’d been nominated by some of our parents/carers was just fabulous. Everything we do here is for the students, but to have the recognition that it is appreciated and valued means everything to us. Thank you to all of you who have nominated us.

This week there have also been lots more traditional school events happening outside the excitement of award nominations. The students and staff who went to Paris returned in the early hours of Tuesday morning, having had the very best time. They visited all the iconic tourist attractions as well as going to Disneyland Paris. One of the objectives of our Broadening Horizons curriculum is to create memories that will last a lifetime and the students will hold all the memories of the weekend for a long time.

Also, the Year 11 and 13 mock exams have started in earnest and our students, as always, have conducted themselves very well. We wish them the best of luck for the second week of exams.

Finally, it was really good to see such a high turnout of parents/carers at our Year 9 parents’ evening. It was evident from discussions with lots of parents that our Year 9 students are really carefully considering their options choices and are really appreciating the careers information and guidance package that Mr Barton, Mrs Laxton and the team are providing for them.

Please can I continue to remind parents/carers of the rules around immaculate uniform. Students may only wear a Trinity jumper and this should be in addition to, and not replace, the compulsory item of the blazer. During the cold conditions students are more than welcome to wear a warm coat but no tracksuit tops or hoodies please.

Finally, this term, we are working on the theme of Respect within our behaviour curriculum and focus weeks. We are specifically reinforcing the concept that ‘manners cost nothing’, and we were hoping that parents/carers could support us by rehearsing at home the need for please and thank you during interactions with adults and each other. We would, as always, be very grateful for your support.

Please let us know if you need any support at any stage of this term. Our contact details are on the website, and it is only with effective communication between parents/carers and school can we hope to help your children fulfil their potential.

Have a great weekend and I look forward to writing to you next week.

Best Regards,

Mr Ford

Headteacher
