Parental Bulletin – 7 March 2025
MESSAGE FROM THE HEADTEACHER
Dear Parents and Carers,
There has been much to enjoy and celebrate this week as the weather finally reminded us that summer is on its way; I hope I haven’t spoken too soon!!
Assemblies this week focussed on two of our whole school priorities of supporting student mental health and ensuring that students understand how to improve their work and respond well to the ‘in the moment’ feedback they receive from teachers. We also celebrated World Book Day in a range of ways and Year 11 students continued their exam preparations with ‘Brain Training’.
In the world of personal development, there have already been many events and activities that have taken learning beyond the curriculum, with the highlight being the group of just under 40 students who, on Thursday morning, set off on the adventure of a lifetime to Madrid. Parents/carers will be able to see how their weekend goes by going to our social media channels and looking out for posts from the Madrid staff team.
I would also like to wish members of our Trinity family from the Muslim community a peaceful and prosperous Ramadan. At Trinity we appreciate the dedication and commitment to this pillar of Islam, and we would like to support our Muslim community during Ramadan. Having taken advice from members of the Muslim community, we understand the demands of fasting in particular, and we acknowledge that some parts of the day will be challenging. It is important therefore that we communicate the following adjustments that our school will make during the month of Ramadan. Whilst it is expected that all students who are fasting will still attend and participate in Physical Education, lessons will be adapted so that students can take part. The adaptations will involve lessons taking place at a lesser intensity than normal. During the month of Ramadan, students should continue to attend well, be on time and stay in their routine. However, if students who are fasting would like a quiet space during social times, then we will be opening the Library and Room 9 where students will be supervised by Mr Kabir. If you require any support during the holy month of Ramadan, then our fantastic team are here for you, and we will do our best to help.
Finally, we would ask, as always, that you work with us this half term to ensure that your child is in school every day, unless they are extremely unwell or there are other exceptional circumstances. We would also ask that you work with us to ensure that they arrive well ahead of 8.40am and that they present to school each day in immaculate school uniform. If you would like support or guidance with any of these things, please speak to the relevant Head of Year or Pastoral Manager and we will be happy to support you.
I am looking forward to sharing news from around the school next week.
Mr Ford
CONTACTING SCHOOL
As many of you will have heard on the school answer phone message and to re-iterate Mr Ford’s comments, we receive an exceptionally high volume of calls on a daily basis. Unfortunately, we do not have the capacity either to answer a high percentage of these calls or to listen to all voice messages left. We would therefore urge you to email the relevant person/people you wish to contact. Not only does this ensure that we have a written trail of communication between you and school, but it also means that the person you wish to speak to is guaranteed to receive your message.
