MESSAGE FROM THE HEADTEACHER

Dear Parents, Carers and Students,

Last week was a very important day at Trinity, as we all came together on World Mental Health Day to wear yellow in support of the charity Young Minds.  We reminded the students this week of the importance of looking after our own wellbeing and it was lovely to see so many in the school, both students and adults, come out in support of this very important cause by wearing a splash of yellow.
It is also important to recognise the efforts of the Trinity community, for their efforts in collecting Harvest donations, which we presented to the Batchley Support Group. It was amazing to see the community spirit on show and thank you to all families who donated.

We have had another successful week in the classroom with particular highlights being the food mock practical’s where the standard of work produced was sensational. There were also other controlled assessments happening and in Year 11 and 13 classrooms, as thoughts turn to their first mock exam series. It would be pertinent to remind parents, carers and students that independent preparation for these examinations is vital and students will feel much more confident if they are working independently. Our Year 11’s have been introduced to the core four revision strategies and we will support them with any preparations.

This week’s Headteacher’s brunch was simply wonderful. I shared break time with some exceptional new Year 9 students who are earning significant numbers of house points, right through to some of our amazing sixth form students who are leading some fantastic personal development initiatives across the school, such as our informal concert series, pop up and busk.

Every week, we remind parents/carers and politely ask, that you work with us to ensure that your child is in school every day, unless they are extremely unwell or there are other exceptional circumstances. We would also ask that you work with us to ensure they arrive well ahead of 8.40am and that they present to school each day in immaculate school uniform. In Autumn Term, full school uniform is expected, and appearance should be immaculate. Facial piercings are NOT permitted, and students should understand that blazers are compulsory, and jumpers are optional. We will only accept the Trinity sweatshirt or knitted v neck available from Orchard clothing.

If you would like support or guidance with any of these things, please speak to the relevant Form Tutor, Head of Year or Pastoral Manager and we will be happy to support you.

I am looking forward to sharing news from around the school next week.

Mr Ford

CONTACTING SCHOOL

As many of you will have heard on the school answer phone message, we receive an exceptionally high volume of calls on a daily basis.  Unfortunately, we do not have the capacity to answer a high percentage of these calls or to listen to all voice messages left.  We would therefore urge you to email the relevant person/people you wish to contact.  Not only does this ensure that we have a written trail of communication between you and school, but it also means that the person you wish to speak to is guaranteed to receive your message.
