Parental Bulletin – 17th January 2025
MESSAGE FROM THE HEADTEACHER
Dear Parents and Carers,
Another week at Trinity is over and I have the pleasure, once again, of sharing my peaks of the week as the Spring term really kicks into action.
Highlights for the week are the Year 9 Options Evening where there was such lovely feedback from parents/carers, telling us that ‘it’s great to see the level of care invested by our teachers and that the process was in the best interests of ALL students’ futures’, embodying our mission of Excellence for All.
Elsewhere in the school, it’s great to see the effort of all our teachers but would particularly like to mention MFL for their extra-curricular activities – with a Flamenco dancing day bringing the culture of Spain alive and the forthcoming Paris trip being organised.
I would like to express how impressed I continue to be with the application of our sixth formers towards their vocation exams and the dedication our staff and students continue to have towards our extra-curricular programme. Trips to Nando’s, sports activities and many in-department awards give you just a flavour of this week.
This week, please can I ask parents/carers to support us in ensuring high levels of attendance. In order for us to guarantee strong academic performance, we would once again ask parents/carers to work with us and only allow their child to remain at home if they have a contagious illness or have significant exceptional circumstances. Every absence from school will disadvantage your child and be a barrier to academic success. We really appreciate your support and congratulate the many students who have high levels of attendance in Autumn Term.
Please can I also remind parents/carers of our unceasingly high expectations around uniform. This term, as the temperature drops, it is important that students are able to keep warm to focus on their learning. We encourage students to wear the Trinity v neck jumper at this time of year to stay cosy. This is optional and should be worn IN ADDITION to the blazer and not replace it. If students wish to wear a coat, then that is fine, but it must not be a hoodie or tracksuit top and it must be removed in lessons. In terms of appearance, students must wear black, formal polishable shoes and long nails and piercings are not allowed in school.
We appreciate parent/carer support to ensure our students adhere to our uniform and appearance policies.
I hope you all have a good weekend when it comes, and I look forward to sharing highlights of the first few weeks of Spring Term with you.
Mr Ford
CONTACTING SCHOOL
As many of you will have heard on the school answer phone message and to re-iterate Mr Ford’s comments, we receive an exceptionally high volume of calls on a daily basis. Unfortunately, we do not have the capacity either to answer a high percentage of these calls or to listen to all voice messages left. We would therefore urge you to email the relevant person/people you wish to contact. Not only does this ensure that we have a written trail of communication between you and school, but it also means that the person you wish to speak to is guaranteed to receive your message.
