Parental Bulletin – 16th May 2025

MESSAGE FROM THE HEADTEACHER

Dear Parents and Carers,

As the first half of the summer term continues to fly by at quite an astounding pace, it is time to take a brief pause and reflect on the peaks of the week that have made this week at Trinity so special.

Some of my personal highlights have included receiving lots of positive feedback from Year 9 parents/carers at parents’ evening and witnessing so many parents/carers attend to receive detailed feedback regarding their child’s progress. Thank you to parents/carers and, of course, to our wonderful staff for working in partnership together.

Another highlight of mine this week was joining the staff for a short training session on ‘live marking’ and ‘in the moment feedback’ and hearing teachers feedback on the creative and innovative ways that they are applying ‘in the moment feedback’ or live marking in their classroom. I am always blown away by our teachers’ dedication to bettering themselves, even in the middle of exam season where meeting coursework deadlines and helping students make final preparations for their exams is a priority.

In terms of our Broadening Horizons curriculum, our Year 12 students enjoyed a careers experience to familiarise themselves with higher education at Worcester University. Our Health and Social Care students had an immersive experience at Wilson Stuart school whilst others enjoyed cricket fixtures, rounders fixtures and all manner of other exciting and enriching opportunities.

Every week, we remind parents/carers and politely ask that you work with us to ensure that your child is in school every day, unless they are extremely unwell or there are other exceptional circumstances. We would also ask that you work with us to ensure they arrive well ahead of 8.40am and that they present to school each day in immaculate school uniform. If you would like support or guidance with any of these things, please speak to the relevant Head of Year or Pastoral Manager and we will be happy to support you. If we make any adjustments this summer term in our uniform due to hot weather conditions, we will let you know. However, for now, students should wear full school uniform, but they are welcome to remove their blazer in class.

I am looking forward to sharing news from around the school next week.

Mr Ford

HOT WEATHER

With the hot weather upon us, could we please ask that students come into school with water bottles that they can refill.

CONTACTING SCHOOL

As many of you will have heard on the school answer phone message and to re-iterate Mr Ford’s comments, we receive an exceptionally high volume of calls on a daily basis.  Unfortunately, we do not have the capacity either to answer a high percentage of these calls or to listen to all voice messages left.  We would therefore urge you to email the relevant person/people you wish to contact.  Not only does this ensure that we have a written trail of communication between you and school, but it also means that the person you wish to speak to is guaranteed to receive your message.
