Parental Bulletin – 5th December 2025
MESSAGE FROM THE HEADTEACHER
Dear Parents, Carers and Students,
I hope everyone in the Trinity family is well, as we head into the first week of December. I am writing my first parent bulletin from home since my surgery just over two weeks ago and I would like to start by thanking the significant number of parents/carers that took the time to send a message into school to wish me a speedy recovery. You’ll be pleased to hear that after a really tough initial first week of recovery, I’m making good progress and hope to be returning to lead the school in person in the very near future. Whilst I’ve been away, I think it would be true to say that all the staff have shown true Trinity spirit and pulled together to keep Excellence for All at the heart of every day. I can’t thank them enough.
This week Christmas has certainly arrived at Trinity and on Monday our traditional REVERSE ADVENT campaign begun, where we ask that students bring donations that we will pass to Batchley Support Group at the end of term. I am also devastated to have missed the annual Christmas Concert, which I hear was as wonderful as ever, with our talented students providing our audience with an incredibly festive end to the week. I am always so proud of our talented students, who practice so hard and commit so much time to the concerts that we hold. I hope everyone who joined us enjoyed it immensely.
In the world of quality of education, we held our Year 10 More Able parents meeting this week. It was fabulous that so many parents/carers from those invited joined us at the launch of this really important programme. Obviously, Excellence for All is our mission, but we do place great importance on ensuring our more able students both excel in the classroom and receive a wider offer, that helps them to prepare for higher education and understand options and progression routes available to them.
This week there have also been lots of other activities and events including Year 10 and 12 assessments, The ‘This Girl Can’ girls’ sports event and the more able trip to follow the parents evening.
One important date for your diary is Tuesday 16th December, which is our Autumn Term ‘Excellence for All’ awards evening. If your child has reached one of our reward milestones, you will be invited to this lovely evening of celebration, and we ask that you save the date so you can celebrate with us and your child.
Every week, we remind parents/carers and politely ask, that you work with us to ensure that your child is in school every day, unless they are extremely unwell or there are other exceptional circumstances. We would also ask that you work with us to ensure they arrive well ahead of 8.40am and that they present to school each day in immaculate school uniform. In Autumn Term, full school uniform is expected, and appearance should be immaculate. Facial piercings are NOT permitted, and students should understand that blazers are compulsory and jumpers are optional. We will only accept the Trinity sweatshirt or knitted v neck available from Orchard clothing. As it gets colder, the rule is coats are fine to wear but must be worn OVER the blazer and not instead of it. Hoodies or tracksuit tops are not permitted.
If you would like support or guidance with any of these things, please speak to the relevant Form Tutor, Head of Year or Pastoral Manager and we will be happy to support you.
I am looking forward to sharing news from around the school next week.
Mr Ford
CONTACTING SCHOOL
As many of you will have heard on the school answer phone message, we receive an exceptionally high volume of calls on a daily basis. Unfortunately, we do not have the capacity to answer a high percentage of these calls or to listen to all voice messages left. We would therefore urge you to email the relevant person/people you wish to contact. Not only does this ensure that we have a written trail of communication between you and school, but it also means that the person you wish to speak to is guaranteed to receive your message.
