Year 12 ‘Futures Days’
On Monday, 30th June, some of our Yr 12 students attended a skills work shop with Conrad, a civil servant from the JCP Schools team. The visit was to help prepare for CV writing and interview skills for future job applications.
Students took part in a recruitment exercise, taking on the role of Human Resources to shortlist CV applications for a role. They participated in a ‘tie your tie’ competition, created their own CVs and one student took part in a role-play to showcase what not to do in an interview!
For those Yr 12 students who were not able to participate in this workshop, a visit to Cardiff for a ‘Future University Day’ was organised. The trip included a tour of the University of South Wales (speakers, tours, and workshops), a trip around Cardiff town and a visit to the castle. All students thinking of university progression after Yr13 were encouraged to attend. It was a great day. Well done all!
