Year 11 Girls Victorious!

On Wednesday 8th March, in spite of the terrible weather conditions, our Year 11 girls’ handball team stormed to a 15-3 victory against Tudor Grange.

The triumphant team was made up of Grace C, Emily L, Rachel W and Maja S (Yr 11) and a special thanks to Izzy W, Lexie R and Harriet C (Yr10) for stepping in at the last minute to ensure the fixture could still go ahead.

The team got off to a slow start in the first quarter, ending it 3-2. However, they stepped it up in the second quarter going into half time 8-2 up! The goals kept coming in the second half with the final score 15-3. Top scorer was Emily L with 6 goals, followed by Maja S and Rachel W with 4 goals each and Lexie R scoring the final goal.

Although our scoring from open play was outstanding, we need to work on our penalty-taking, having had 2 penalties tragically saved in the 2nd and 4th quarters.
