Year 10 girls’ basketball

On Wednesday 18th January our Year 10 girls had their first basketball game of the academic year against St Augustine’s. The first quarter saw the girls eager to prove themselves, with Maddie scoring twice. Then Harriet, Ruby and Hollie put scores on the board with a strong defensive effort from Hollie. Ending the quarter 10-6, Trinity made a good start. After a quick team talk it was Lexie who took to the court and scored twice, then Maddie scored once again.

The second quarter ended 16-14 – St Augustine’s had started to make their come-back.

The third quarter started with the girls on fire with Kaitlyn scoring 3 times and Ruby following with another 4. Trinity were starting to pull away, but a strong defensive effort from Izzy and Lily was still needed to keep the strong St Augustine’s team at bay.

The third quarter ended 30-14.

The final quarter started and within seconds Harriet scored again. Saints continued to force pressure, but a determined Trinity ended the game 32-24. A huge well done to the girls, a brilliant game with true Trinity spirit.

Special thank you to Emily and Grace for giving up their time to run the scoring table for the game.

Players of the match – Hollie for her outstanding defending and Maddie for her shooting.
