Year 10 Boys’ Football
The year 10 boys started their season with a tough away fixture to Saints on a windy Wednesday evening. The game started at a rapid pace with Saints scoring 2 quick goals, catching half the Trinity lads still seemingly on the bus. Kicking uphill and into the wind was never going to be an easy task but they hung on in there and Keon grabbed a goal to half the deficit. Game on. Saints pressed hard and were always on top in the first half. A clear penalty (no need for VAR!) and a breakaway goal took them out to a 4-1 lead at the break. But, never write Trinity off as the lads came quickly out of the blocks in the second half and dominated the final part of the game. Some lovely play through the middle from Ronnie, Toby and Ellis were backed up with some tough defensive work from Bailey, Keon and the 2 Shaun’s. Ellis bagged 2 quick goals and the miracle comeback was on…Alas it was not to be. Pushing for the equaliser, Saints broke clear and killed the game off in the last 3 minutes. A good game all round finishing 5-3 to Saints. We go again in a fortnights time with another away fixture at North Bromsgrove.
