Year 10 Boys’ Football
Trinity Year 10 Boys packed themselves up and onto the bus for a 7-a-side competition over at Arrowvale on Wednesday. With the promise of multiple short games, a fit and athletic squad was selected, featuring the talented Omar in goal and the long-awaited appearance of Riley after his lengthy spell on the sides with injury.
Arrowvale’s 4G pitch looked resplendent under the floodlights and a light drizzle ensured the pitch was in prime condition for fast flowing foodball. Trinity played 5 games in all and warmed up with a routine 5-0 win over Arrowvale B. This was followed by a tightly contested 0-0 draw with Saints and an unfortunate 1-0 loss to Woodrush. Fortunately, this was to be the only blot on the copy book as Trinity closed out the evening with a fine win over Tudor Grange and then they completed the Arrowvale double by beating Arrowvale A in the last fixture of the evening.
This was a brilliant evening with lots of a good football on show. Omar made many wonderful saves including one goal line clearance to keep a clean sheet vs Saints. The two Shauns along with Leo and Jay were solid in defence and this laid the platform for Ben and Joe to dominate the midfield. Riley and Kieran caused problems all night with excellent dribbling and a “shoot on site” policy adopted from the Mr Kesterton days of year 9!
