Year 10 boys basketball extend their unbeaten run
The year 10 boys’ basketball team travelled over to South Bromsgrove, the scene of their last victory, to take on two other schools in a round robin tournament last Wednesday evening. Confidence was high after some good training sessions and a couple of high-quality additions to the matchday squad.
First up they played North Bromsgrove who didn’t quite know what to make of the organised and disciplined defence that Trinity put together. Shaun set the tone and had his finest showing in the Trinity jersey making blocks, interceptions and being an all round defensive general all night. This enabled the trio of Benson, Blake and Simon to weave their magic in the offense. Trinity took the first of their games by a 20 point margin and were in high spirits going into a rematch of last week’s fixture with South Bromsgrove.
This was a tense and, sometimes, scrappy encounter in the first period, low scoring and perhaps the occasion was getting to both teams. After a reality check at half time the lads came out firing and took the game to South. Trinity ended up running in as comfortable winners and with a record of played 2 won 2. It’s fair to say that they “won the night.”
A few weeks of good training is in store now and then the resumption of competitive fixtures will start again mid January.
