The History Department are getting ready for our Battlefields Trip to France and Belgium, leaving on Wednesday this week. We are going to be taking part in 2 formal acts of Remembrance whilst we are there. The first is at the Menin Gate at the evening service, where two of our students will be asked to lay a wreath on behalf of the school. The second is at Thiepval Memorial to the Missing; this wreath has been dedicated to Albert Edward Scarr, Mrs Stocks’ Great Uncle, who died at the Battle of Ancre, aged just 18 years old. Two students will also be asked to lay this wreath on behalf of the school and family.
We’re all really looking forward to the trip and to seeing everyone, bright and early on Wednesday at 4am!
