The Brilliant Club at Trinity High School
A huge congratulations to our “brilliant” Year 12 students who applied and were selected to take part in the highly competitive Brilliant Club’s Scholars Programme here at Trinity.
Over the past few weeks students have been working with their PhD tutor Stacey Kennedy (University of Birmingham, Department of African Studies and Anthropology) on a 6-week university level course entitled “Can art tell a new story about Africa?” Stacey has been very impressed with our Year 12 students, commenting on the warm welcome she has had at THS, and how the students taking part in the project are a ‘bright and engaging’ group.
As part of the experience, we were invited to the University of Warwick for a launch day with the Brilliant Club – a day of study skills, campus tour and Q&A with current students that really developed their understanding of what it is like to go to university. It really got some of them thinking about Warwick as their university of choice.
We wish all of our scholars the best of luck for the next few weeks of the course and for their final assignments – which will be marked to university standard! We are really looking forward to seeing the 15 students graduate from the programme and be focused on their futures with more knowledge of university life.
