Sixth Form ‘CHARITY TUBE’

Many years ago, I asked the then Technology Technician to build a ‘’loose change’’ charity tube for the Sixth Form Common room. Initially it filled up fast, as loose change still kind of existed. However, it has slowed down the last couple of years as we increasingly move to a ‘cashless’ society.
Last week, I heard Izzy in Year 12, whilst casually walking past it, simply ask the question: ‘I wonder how much is in there now? And so that was all the inspiration we needed to empty it and find out. Many thanks to all the students who helped count the money, and our caretakers Mark & Liam, for emptying the tube. But the biggest thanks of all is, of course, ALL the students over the years who have dropped a coin in this tube.
I am delighted to say that there is over £200 (still being counted total going up!), and it will be delivered to St Basils in Redditch for Christmas. Wishing you all a fabulous festive break!
