Official opening of 3G Astro facility

Yesterday was the perfect day to have the official opening of our new 3G Astro pitch, dedicated to a man who had so much personal and professional history with Trinity, over such a long period of time – Mr Paul Rickard.

Paul Rickard joined Abbey High School in 1978 as a teacher and continued until 2016, when, unable to leave the school community he loved so much, he became an exam invigilator until 2020, when he sadly passed away . During his 42 years, Paul was not only a teacher, he was also secretary of Hereford and Worcestershire Schools FA, a council member and chairman for the ESFA, he organised an England vs Northern Ireland U18 school boys’ international and he was heavily involved in County Schools Football. He was a great man and is missed by many.

Many of Paul’s former work colleagues came not only to witness the opening of a facility that would have thrilled and delighted him but also to pay their respects to him and his family.

We would like to thank John Harris of Harris & Associate Surveyors, Tony Farmer of Blakedown for overseeing the project and, above all, the Trinity High School Governors for allowing this amazing facility to be installed.
