November Mock Examination information – surviving and thriving in Year 11 and 13

Dear Parents, Carers and Students of Year 11 and 13,

RE: NOVEMBER MOCK EXAM INFORMATION – SURVIVING AND THRIVING IN YEAR 11 AND 13

On Monday 3rd November, the Monday that we return from the half term break, the November mock examination series will begin. This is the first of two really important ‘real experiences’ that will allow students to understand how they are progressing and performing in each of their subjects. The exams obviously also help teachers to understand which knowledge and skills gaps still exist and need working on, as they head towards the public examinations in the summer. We will be supporting students to prepare all week both in class and out, in order to build their confidence, let them know we have their backs and reduce any feelings of anxiety that they may have about their exams.

CORE FOUR REVISION STRATEGIES ON SOCIALS- Everyday this week on our social media channels, we will be sharing the revision strategies that we are supporting students to refine. We call these our core four revision strategies and there will be one each day this week to refer to.

On Thursday Year 11 and 13 will have a Mock Preparation assembly of which the theme will be ‘Surviving and Thriving’ in the mock exams. We will remind them about practical strategies to stay well over the exam series, remind them of the rules they need to be aware of and provide further input around our ‘core four’ revision strategies and how best to tackle revision over the half term break.

BREAKFAST REVISION CLUB – Finally from Monday 3rd November to Monday 17th November, we will be running a BREAKFAST REVISION CLUB every morning from 8.00am. Please could parents/carers encourage students to attend. At the club, students will receive a free breakfast and both subject specialists and senior leaders will be in attendance to support students to get last minute exam tips, reduce any last minute nerves and ensure they are fed and full of energy heading into their exams. This will be an excellent way for students to start each day in what can be a nerve racking part of their year and we encourage all students to attend from 8am.

We wish every Year 11 and 13 student all the luck for their revision and the forthcoming exams and if you need any support or advice, please don’t hesitate to contact us on office@trinity.bmat.co.uk.
