Gold Duke of Edinburgh expedition
Last week 5 of our Year 12 students completed their Gold Duke of Edinburgh Expedition in the Peak District. This involved walking 100K in 6 days, learning how to read a map and take bearings, important first aid skills, cooking and putting up a tent.
The 5 pupils showed amazing resilience and determination to complete their expedition in some windy and rainy conditions.
As part of their expedition the pupils had to complete a presentation. They decided to talk about how their teamwork had developed from the beginning to the end of the expedition. They commented on how, on day 1, they didn’t really know each other, but were able to improve their teamwork skills throughout the week to work together and to become more confident individuals to make new friends and talk to others.
A massive thank you to Head for the Hill for helping us complete our expedition.
