A-Level English Literature Trip to Stratford

All of our A-level English Literature students recently went to Stratford-upon-Avon to see their latest production of Shakespeare’s Macbeth. On a wet Thursday evening (appropriate given the setting of the play) we took our seats in the main house of the RSC to watch a cyber-punk version of Shakespeare’s Scottish play. Here are some of the comments from the students: “I enjoyed how some characters had been made female like Duncan to give the play a new spin.” “Lady Macbeth was outstanding.” “The music, the birds falling from the ceiling and the fire were so cool.” Glowing praise indeed. You can see half the group pictured below. We look forward to our next visit soon!
