Parental Bulletin – 3rd October 2025
MESSAGE FROM THE HEADTEACHER
Dear Parents, Carers and Students,
This week is a special parent bulletin, aimed at celebrating some of the most memorable moments of the past week. It is difficult to know where to start, given that there have been so many special parts of the week, where the HEART VALUES have been visible and present.
Last Friday, I was double-booked and had to run from a wonderful Headteacher’s Brunch, where we celebrated student success from lots of different areas of the school, to the Sixth Form Macmillan Coffee morning, which raised £476 for Macmillan Cancer support. A day like Friday reminds you how kind and wonderful our staff and student communities are.
This week, we have had external job candidates in school, who have commented on how wonderful, calm, purposeful and welcoming our environment is. We are making final preparations for our open week next week and look forward to showcasing our school throughout the week, both in the mornings and on open evening on Thursday night. We are so grateful for all our student volunteers, who will show the school off wonderfully next week and our amazing staff, who will shine like they do every day.
However, on week 6 of the 8 week half term, we thought it was important to spread some school spirit and celebrate and recognise some really important events next week, namely Harvest Festival and World Mental Health Day. Please see the SCHOOL SPIRIT WEEK and WEAR YELLOW posters below for full details. There will be lots of things going on throughout the week, but next week we do ask that:
Your child wears yellow accessories on Friday 10th October to recognise the importance of talking about your mental health. There will be prizes for the best yellow accessories.
You donate some non-perishable food and toiletries to our Harvest Festival collection, which we donate to our local Batchley Support Group, who do such wonderful things for the disadvantaged and vulnerable members of the local community.
Students join in with the activities and events in School Spirit week, which are all designed to promote positive mental health and belonging to our community.
We look forward to sharing stories, photos and anecdotes from next week.
Every week, we remind parents/carers and politely ask, that you work with us to ensure that your child is in school every day, unless they are extremely unwell or there are other exceptional circumstances. We would also ask that you work with us to ensure they arrive well ahead of 8.40am and that they present to school each day in immaculate school uniform. In Autumn Term, full school uniform is expected, and appearance should be immaculate. Facial piercings are NOT permitted, and students should understand that blazers are compulsory, and jumpers are optional. We will only accept the Trinity sweatshirt or knitted v neck available from Orchard clothing. If you would like support or guidance with any of these things, please speak to the relevant Form Tutor, Head of Year or Pastoral Manager and we will be happy to support you.
I am looking forward to sharing news from around the school next week.
Mr Ford
CONTACTING SCHOOL
As many of you will have heard on the school answer phone message, we receive an exceptionally high volume of calls on a daily basis. Unfortunately, we do not have the capacity to answer a high percentage of these calls or to listen to all voice messages left. We would therefore urge you to email the relevant person/people you wish to contact. Not only does this ensure that we have a written trail of communication between you and school, but it also means that the person you wish to speak to is guaranteed to receive your message.
