Parental Bulletin – 24th January 2025

MESSAGE FROM THE HEADTEACHER

Dear Parents and Carers,

Thank you once again for all your support this week. It has been a really important week at Trinity, particularly for the examination year groups of Years 11 and 13, as they ready themselves for their second mock examination series that begins next week. For these year groups, the onus in the classroom has been on exam technique, exam resilience and final knowledge and skills revision, so that students can perform well and become more confident over the next two weeks. We wish our Year 11 and Year 13 students every success in the forthcoming mock examination series.

It has also been PRAISE WEEK at Trinity and my senior leadership team and I have been busy working our way around the school, rewarding students with prizes for those that ‘choose kindness’ on a regular basis. I have really enjoyed walking around the school and giving out the rewards week prizes for those students who really embody our HEART values every day. Congratulations to you all.

Finally, this week it has been wonderful to witness our Year 9 students taking their options information and guidance interviews so seriously and working with the most dedicated ‘options team’, led by Mr Barton. We strive to enable students to make the best possible decisions for their GCSE and Level 2 courses. Well done to everyone involved in this process.

Please can I also remind parents/carers of our unceasingly high expectations around uniform. This term, as the temperature drops, it is important that students are able to keep warm to focus on their learning. We encourage students to wear the Trinity v neck jumper at this time of year to stay cosy. This is optional and should be worn IN ADDITION to the blazer and not replace it. If students wish to wear a coat, then that is fine, but it must not be a hoodie or tracksuit top and it must be removed in lessons. In terms of appearance, students must wear black, formal polishable shoes and long nails and piercings are not allowed in school.

We appreciate parent/carer support to ensure our students adhere to our uniform and appearance policies.

I hope you all have a good weekend when it comes, and I look forward to sharing highlights of the week with you next week.

Mr Ford

CONTACTING SCHOOL

As many of you will have heard on the school answer phone message and to re-iterate Mr Ford’s comments, we receive an exceptionally high volume of calls on a daily basis.  Unfortunately, we do not have the capacity either to answer a high percentage of these calls or to listen to all voice messages left.  We would therefore urge you to email the relevant person/people you wish to contact.  Not only does this ensure that we have a written trail of communication between you and school, but it also means that the person you wish to speak to is guaranteed to receive your message.
