Parental Bulletin – 22nd November 2024

MESSAGE FROM THE HEADTEACHER

Dear Parents and Carers,

It has been an abbreviated week at Trinity, as severe disruption due to the adverse weather conditions on Tuesday forced me to close the school. I would like to extend a massive thank you to parents/carers for your understanding and positive feedback regarding my decision. I am very grateful for the support.

This week’s highlights include our careers focus in assemblies this week. Mrs Kenderdine, our careers education lead, and a team of staff delivered assemblies that will support students to understand their employment, education and training choices when leaving Trinity and which gave them an insight into how they can successfully navigate considering their futures. If any students wish to secure any careers advice, then please see Mrs Kenderdine in school in her office near the library.

My other highlights have been visiting lots of classrooms with external visitors, which always makes me smile due to the feedback that they give us about our students and teachers. However, what is making me most proud at the moment is the vast amount of work going on at the school that is raising money for national and local charities which include:

Movember – where some of our male staff are sporting moustaches to support a national men’s health charity.

House Charities – this Christmas we will be raising money for such charities as the Teenage Cancer Trust and Make a Wish.

Our reverse advent calendar – where we will be collecting money for Redditch food banks.

We ask those that are able, to donate to our charities this Autumn term and support our chosen charities.

Please can I remind parents/carers of our unceasingly high expectations around uniform. This term as the temperatures drop, it is important that students are able to keep warm to focus on their learning. We encourage students to wear the Trinity v neck jumper at this time of year to stay cosy. This is optional and should be worn IN ADDITION to the blazer and not replace it. If students wish to wear a coat, then that is fine, but it must not be a hoodie or tracksuit top and it must be removed in lessons. In terms of appearance, students must wear black, formal polishable shoes and long nails and piercings are not allowed in school.

We appreciate parent/carer support to ensure our students adhere to our uniform and appearance policies.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Mr Ford

CONTACTING SCHOOL

As many of you will have heard on the school answer phone message and to re-iterate Mr Ford’s comments, we receive an exceptionally high volume of calls on a daily basis.  Unfortunately, we do not have the capacity either to answer a high percentage of these calls or to listen to all voice messages left.  We would therefore urge you to email the relevant person/people you wish to contact.  Not only does this ensure that we have a written trail of communication between you and school, but it also means that the person you wish to speak to is guaranteed to receive your message.
