MESSAGE FROM THE HEADTEACHER

Dear Parents, Carers and Students,

This week at Trinity we have settled further into the new academic year and ensured that all our students are settled and happy, despite how busy their timetables are and how hard we expect them to work and learn.

There have been lots of visitors in school this week from various organisations, and there has been some overwhelmingly strong feedback regarding our students’ manners, their attitudes to learning and the happiness around classrooms and corridors.

Last Friday, I held my first Headteacher’s brunch where I meet with any students who are doing amazing things in or out of the classroom and in the community. Last week, I heard the story of Lily, who is one of the most active volunteers at Batchley Support Group, Finn who excelled in his work experience, Jayden, who is achieving amazing things within our cadet unit and Grace who has started her time at Trinity being recognised for living our values.

This week in classrooms, we’ve been focusing on ensuring that live marking is a tool that is used consistently for feedback in the moment and that we really understand how to utilise our pupil passports for students who require additional support.

Beyond the classroom, auditions for the school production of Matilda are underway and extra-curricular clubs such as basketball, chess club and cadets are attracting good numbers already.

In terms of important dates for your diary, our open week starts on Tuesday 7th October with our open mornings, which will run Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and will end with our open evening on Thursday 9th October from 6.00pm to 8.30pm. We are excited to invite any prospective parents to our school. All other school dates can be found on the calendar on our website.

Every week, we remind parents/carers and politely ask, that you work with us to ensure that your child is in school every day, unless they are extremely unwell or there are other exceptional circumstances. We would also ask that you work with us to ensure they arrive well ahead of 8.40am and that they present to school each day in immaculate school uniform. In Autumn Term, full school uniform is expected, and appearance should be immaculate. Facial piercings are NOT permitted, and students should understand that blazers are compulsory, and jumpers are optional. We will only accept the Trinity sweatshirt or knitted v neck available from Orchard clothing.

If you would like support or guidance with any of these things, please speak to the relevant Form Tutor, Head of Year or Pastoral Manager and we will be happy to support you.

I am looking forward to sharing news from around the school next week.

Mr Ford

CONTACTING SCHOOL

As many of you will have heard on the school answer phone message, we receive an exceptionally high volume of calls on a daily basis.  Unfortunately, we do not have the capacity to answer a high percentage of these calls or to listen to all voice messages left.  We would therefore urge you to email the relevant person/people you wish to contact.  Not only does this ensure that we have a written trail of communication between you and school, but it also means that the person you wish to speak to is guaranteed to receive your message.
