Parental Bulletin – 17th May 2024
MESSAGE FROM THE HEADTEACHER
Dear Parents/Carers,
This week has been a lovely week at Trinity. Classrooms have been alive with interactive and dynamic teaching and learning and the extra-curricular programme has seen lots of students enjoying partaking in the wider life of school in many ways. The Year 11 and 13 examination series continued this week and all the students without exception have been a credit to themselves in how they have approached their formal exams. We wish them the best of luck for their last week of exams before the half term break.
Also, this week, a number of staff took an expedition up Mount Snowden to raise additional funds for the forthcoming World Challenge expedition to Malaysia. The staff returned with unbelievable sun tans, really sore legs and blisters, but having raised a further £1,300 for the Malaysia experience – well done to all the staff involved.
It is also worth shouting out MALVERN HOUSE who won the House Cricket competition this week with Kinver coming second and Bredon 3rd. Well done to all participants and Mr Downing for running the event.
Please can I remind parents/carers of our two standards themes of the term: namely uniform and punctuality.
Although it is warm, students should wear full school uniform. We will allow them to remove their blazers, but we will ask that they have them with them. Also, students should all be wearing their shirts tucked in and looking immaculate.
In terms of punctuality, students should be in their tutor groups at 8.40am. Students who are late do run the risk of their parents/carers facing legal action and we would really appreciate your support in ensuring students arrive to school on time. Over the past two weeks, the number of students late to school has reduced significantly so we really appreciate your support.
Finally, it is also worth mentioning that for the first time as Headteacher at the school, two Trinity parents have been prosecuted for substandard school attendance in court and ordered by the courts to pay extremely large fines, the amounts of which I cannot disclose. I have no pleasure in passing on this news, but I am doing so to raise awareness of the need for high levels of school attendance. Our attendance graduated response contains legal action (fixed penalty notices and a route to prosecution) as well as support, nurture and care for families. Legal action is a last resort.
However, for poor attendance or punctuality, we will continue to use legal action as it is our obligation to ensure that students receive a high quality, enjoyable education and it is the parent/carers responsibility to ensure their child attends school. We thank you for your support with this.
I hope you all have an enjoyable weekend and I look forward to writing to you next week.

Thank you to everyone who has helped with sorting out a placement for their child, they will be receiving an important letter that has all the details for the next step.
However, at the moment we do not have enough placements for everyone so if you are able to find a placement through friends and family then that would be great.
Many thanks
