Parental Bulletin – 15th November 2024
MESSAGE FROM THE HEADTEACHER
Dear Parents and Carers,
I’d like to start by sincerely thanking you for your ongoing support, for what we are doing at Trinity. To know that our parent body is so supportive means the world to us and we really appreciate all of the positive feedback. We also understand that now and again things may go wrong and if that is the case, please get in contact with us and we will help with any issues swiftly and precisely. As mentioned in previous bulletins, the staff email list is on our website (About Us – Meet Our Staff) and is easier than navigating our phone lines, which can be busy during the school day.
The highlights of this week are plentiful.
Last Friday we gathered as a whole school community to hold a festival of remembrance. It featured readings of poems, parading and marching of our new cadet unit and two minutes’ silence following the last post. The commemoration was attended by governors, staff and students and the HEART values were very much on show throughout the occasion.
This week the first series of mock examinations came to an end for Year 11 and 13 students and I would like to express how very proud I am of our students for their hard work and resilience over the past few weeks. Our teachers are now busy marking and moderating the papers and students will receive both feedback on how to improve their performance in the coming weeks.
There have also been some wonderful educational moments taking place in and out of the curriculum, including our photography trip to Worcester Cathedral, our Sports Studies students working with Year 3 students as part of their non examined assessment and our usual wider curriculum opportunities, creating excellent experiences for all, including cross country, cadets, netball and the remembrance house competition which was won by Falak in Year 10.
Please can I remind parents/carers of our unceasingly high expectations around uniform. This term as the temperatures drop, it is important that students be able to keep warm to focus on their learning. We encourage students to wear the Trinity v-neck jumper at this time of year to stay cosy. This is optional and should be worn IN ADDITION to the blazer and not replace it. If students wish to wear a coat, then that is fine, but it must not be a hoodie or tracksuit top and it must be removed in lessons. In terms of appearance, students must wear black, formal polishable shoes and long nails and piercings are not allowed in school.
We appreciate parent/carer support to ensure our students adhere to our uniform and appearance policies.
I hope you all have a good weekend when it comes and I look forward to writing out to you next week.
Mr Ford
CONTACTING SCHOOL
As many of you will have heard on the school answer phone message and to re-iterate Mr Ford’s comments, we receive an exceptionally high volume of calls on a daily basis. Unfortunately, we do not have the capacity either to answer a high percentage of these calls or to listen to all voice messages left. We would therefore urge you to email the relevant person/people you wish to contact. Not only does this ensure that we have a written trail of communication between you and school, but it also means that the person you wish to speak to is guaranteed to receive your message.
