Parental Bulletin – 13th December 2024
MESSAGE FROM THE HEADTEACHER
Dear Parents and Carers,
Christmas really feels around the corner now – I know this, due to my sitting writing to you this week whilst listening to the rehearsals for our Christmas concert as a backdrop to my morning; it’s always a treat to have our students showcase their talents and I look forward to the concert on Thursday evening. It’s been a lovely week at Trinity; I met with a large group of local Headteacher’s this week and we were discussing whole school culture and the ‘feel’ of our schools. I sat feeling VERY proud of the feel of our school and that is largely down to the spirit of our students and how unrelenting our staff are in caring for our students.
This week there have been many highlights. There are various events and updates from our performing arts department this week, including lots of students rehearsing for the Christmas concert, our music students being given the opportunity to take part in music industry workshops and Tantara, who are a local choir to Redditch, offering coaching and outreach support to our vocal harmony group, the Trinity Singers. Thank you to Claire Lyons, the Head of Music, for going the extra mile for all our students, particularly those who enjoy music and the performing arts.
Elsewhere in the school, ‘brain training’ has been delivered to all Year 11 students. This vital input teaches our students how to develop skills that enable them to commit knowledge to long-term memory. I would like to thank Hannah Daniels for co-ordinating and delivering this important training for students.
This week there have also been House sports and an RE trip to the Redditch Central Mosque. Thank you to all our staff who are going the extra mile for our students.
Please can I remind parents/carers of our unceasingly high expectations around uniform. This term as the temperature drops, it is important that students are able to keep warm to focus on their learning. We encourage students to wear the Trinity v neck jumper at this time of year to stay cosy. This is optional and should be worn IN ADDITION to the blazer and not replace it. If students wish to wear a coat, then that is fine, but it must not be a hoodie or tracksuit top and it must be removed in lessons. In terms of appearance, students must wear black, formal polishable shoes and long nails and piercings are not allowed in school.
We appreciate parent/carer support to ensure our students adhere to our uniform and appearance policies.
Please can I also remind parents/carers of a few dates for your diaries:
Friday 13th December – Christmas Jumper Day – £1 donation for charity if you can afford it, please.
Tuesday 17th December – Rewards Evening begins at 6.00pm
Thursday 19th December – Last Day of term – students will be dismissed at 12.25pm.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend.
Mr Ford
CONTACTING SCHOOL
As many of you will have heard on the school answer phone message and to re-iterate Mr Ford’s comments, we receive an exceptionally high volume of calls on a daily basis. Unfortunately, we do not have the capacity either to answer a high percentage of these calls or to listen to all voice messages left. We would therefore urge you to email the relevant person/people you wish to contact. Not only does this ensure that we have a written trail of communication between you and school, but it also means that the person you wish to speak to is guaranteed to receive your message.
