MESSAGE FROM THE HEADTEACHER

Dear Parents and Carers,

As we head into the latter part of the Autumn term, I sit to write my briefing at the end of a long week and I am feeling incredibly proud to be the Headteacher of this magnificent school. It has been a very busy week as always.

This week’s highlights include our staff ‘Tashes, Tea and Toast’ gathering on Wednesday, where some of our male staff have raised nearly £1000 for men’s health awareness charities. This week we have also enjoyed meeting lots of satisfied parents/carers at our Year 13 parents’ evening, holding training events for our initial teacher trainees, holding a significant amount of extra-curricular activities and house activities and running various curriculum trip and visits such as the GCSE RE trip to St Stephens church. This is all in amongst our amazing lessons which all of my tours around the school suggest have been of an incredibly high quality.

Please can I remind parents/carers of our unceasingly high expectations around uniform. This term as the temperatures drop it is important that students are able to keep warm to focus on their learning. We encourage students to wear the Trinity v neck jumper at this time of year to stay cosy. This is optional and should be worn IN ADDITION to the blazer and not replace it. If students wish to wear a coat, then that is fine, but it must not be a hoodie or tracksuit top and it must be removed in lessons. In terms of appearance, students must wear black, formal polishable shoes and long nails and piercings are not allowed in school.

Please can I also remind parents/carers of a few dates for your diaries:

Thursday 5th December – Year 11 Parents Evening

Thursday 12th December – Christmas Carol Concert

Tuesday 17th December – Rewards Evening

Thursday 19th December – Last Day of term (school will finish just before lunchtime and time to be confirmed)

We appreciate parent/carer support to ensure our students adhere to our uniform and appearance policies.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Mr Ford

CONTACTING SCHOOL

As many of you will have heard on the school answer phone message and to re-iterate Mr Ford’s comments, we receive an exceptionally high volume of calls on a daily basis.  Unfortunately, we do not have the capacity either to answer a high percentage of these calls or to listen to all voice messages left.  We would therefore urge you to email the relevant person/people you wish to contact.  Not only does this ensure that we have a written trail of communication between you and school, but it also means that the person you wish to speak to is guaranteed to receive your message.
