Parental Bulletin – 13th September 2024
MESSAGE FROM THE HEADTEACHER
Dear Parents/Carers,
Welcome back to a brand-new academic year at Trinity High School and Sixth Form Centre. We hope you all had a wonderful summer holiday, enjoyed the ‘mostly’ lovely weather and had some well-deserved time to do things that you all really enjoy.
May I extend the warmest of welcome back to all of our students and parents/carers as we embark on a new year at the school, but a particular welcome to parents/carers of our new Year 9 cohort and any parents/carers of any new students from other schools to Year 12. You are now a member of the wider Trinity family and we look forward to working with you all over the coming years.
This year has started superbly. The students have returned looking impeccable in their uniforms and I would like to thank parents/carers for their support in ensuring our students are looking so smart and well turned out. Lessons are off to a flying start and every time I walk around the school I have been blown away with our students and their attitude to learning this week.
May I take the opportunity to remind parents/carers that effective communication matters a lot to me and there are a number of ways that we achieve this. Firstly, I urge parents/carers to read this bulletin weekly as I attempt to update you on all of the news from around the Trinity community, celebrate successes and share news of upcoming events and dates for your diary. Social media is also a big communication tool for us, in addition to the My Child at School app.
If parents/carers wish to contact us, there is a section below that goes into more details. Email is a much more robust method of communication, as the phone lines are often busy, particularly during peak times of the day. Please remember that help at Trinity is never far away!
May I also take the opportunity to welcome new staff to the school and inform you of any staff who have changed roles.
New staff include:
Niamh McGurran – Maths
Adam Willetts – PE
Bartek Siwak – Computer Science
David O Brien – RE
Kasia Kamrowska – Law
Jenna Lauder – Science
Roz Kenderdine – Careers Education Lead
Brian Jefferson – Engineering
Nia Smith – Attendance Officer
New roles include:
Ruth Bennett – Deputy Headteacher (Pastoral)
Eleanor Young – Assistant Headteacher (Behaviour and Personal Development)
Lucy Chinn – Assistant Headteacher (Attendance and Safeguarding)
Hannah Daniels – Associate Assistant Headteacher
Rochelle Booth – Associate Assistant Headteacher
Louise Jordan – Director of Teacher Development
Megan Rowley – Head of Year 9
Lisa Lester – Year 9 Pastoral Manager
Andy Coyle and Lori Griffiths – Head of History
I look forward to writing out next week and have a lovely weekend when it comes.
Mr Ford
CONTACTING SCHOOL
As many of you will have heard on the school answer phone message and to re-iterate Mr Ford’s comment, we receive an exceptionally high volume of calls on a daily basis. Unfortunately, we do not have the capacity either to answer a high percentage of these calls or to listen to all voice messages left.
We would therefore urge you to email the relevant person/people you wish to contact. Not only does this ensure that we have a written trail of communication between you and school, but it also means that the person you wish to speak to is guaranteed to receive your message.

EASEMORE ROAD GATES
We would like to remind parents that the gates onto Easemore Road are opened daily at around 3pm. This is for safeguarding purposes. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding in keeping our students safe.
STUDENTS WITH NUT ALLERGIES
We have a higher-than-usual number of students with severe nut allergies at Trinity this academic year. Could we therefore please ask parents/carers not to, knowingly, send students into school with anything that may contain nuts. If a student is spotted with food suspected of containing nuts we will, unfortunately, have to confiscate it. Thank you for helping to keep our students safe.
