We know Year 11 can feel like a challenging year, with exams looming and revision beckoning. We also know that you are a special year group, who will more than rise to the challenge. And, if you don’t believe you can do it yet, we’ve put together this page, just for you, to support you in your endeavours.
Remember at the start of the year, we talked about the dream job that probably doesn’t exist yet? Well, try and keep that in your mind as you work your way through the next few months. Try and see this period in your life as an opportunity, rather than an ordeal.
To help you to feel enthused and positive, we’ve put together some key information in these areas:
Knowledge: Understanding how we learn – this will remind you of what the scientists say about the best way to learn and remember.
Preparation: The most effective revision strategies – this section goes through generic (can be applied to any subject) strategies for revision. These include interleaving and spaced practice – make sure you look through these as you plan your revision timetable.
Practice: The Passport to Success – information about how passport works, if you’re considering attending for the first time, and some careers speaker events we’ve got coming up.
Wellbeing: Staying happy and healthy throughout Year 11 – some top tips from the medical profession about how to stay as healthy in body and mind as you can, during this period.
Success: As well as the above, we also have subject specific areas, where you teachers will post useful information such as revision guides, knowledge organisers, past papers and notices about revision sessions.
Careers: Secure your future success – find information about your potential options and future destinations here.
Last, but not least, we know that we might not have thought of everything, so if you find something useful, or you think of something that you and your friends might benefit from, fill out the Help Wanted! form with the details and we can get it added to the website!
We’re proud of you, Year 11. Well done!
