MESSAGE FROM THE HEADTEACHER

Dear Parents/Carers,

It has been a mega busy week at Trinity as the academic year draws to a close.

At this time of year, we try to end the year with as many broadening horizons experiences as we can, and this year has been even more exciting and activity-rich than ever before.

It is actually very difficult this week to select all of my highlights, so I will try my best by attempting to categorise them. Firstly, this week we have led countless number of trips, expeditions and wider opportunities for our students. Our Year 12 World Challenge expedition flew out to Malaysia on Wednesday and we look forward to following their adventures on social media over the next two weeks. Our Bronze and Silver Duke of Edinburgh expeditions were also a huge success and the students demonstrated high levels of physical fitness, endurance and resilience throughout the week. There have also been trips to the Lickey Hills, Upton Warren and Cardiff, which were enjoyed by many students.

In the world of Quality of Education, we launched our more able programme and pledge to the next cohort of more able students who turned out in high numbers to the parents meeting. The Year 12 students also completed their end of year examinations this week and are now receiving feedback to understand how they performed.

Next week we have another packed out calendar, including welcoming our new Year 8 intake to our school on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday for their induction evening and days. We also have a range of trips and experiences going out of school and welcome events for our new staff and initial teacher trainees.

Please can I remind parents/carers of our two standards themes of the summer term: namely uniform and punctuality.

Although it is warm, students should wear full school uniform. We will allow them to remove their blazers, but we will ask that they have them with them. Also, students should all be wearing their shirts tucked in and looking immaculate.

In terms of punctuality, students should be in their tutor groups at 8.40am. Students who are late do run the risk of their parents/carers facing legal action and we would really appreciate your support in ensuring students arrive to school on time. Over the past two weeks, the number of students late to school has reduced significantly so we really appreciate your support.

I look forward to writing to you next week; two weeks until school is out for the summer.

Mr Ford

WORK EXPERIENCE

Despite all our efforts we are still short of placements for our Year 10/11 going out on work experience in September. Unfortunately, I am no longer able to match their particular interests to a placement, but any placement will equip them with very valuable transferable skills. If your child has not had a placement given to them yet, your support in trying to find one would be very much appreciated.  With Kindest regards, Mrs Louise Laxton
