Transition Update

Given the ongoing situation and current Government guidelines, it is with regret that we will have to cancel this year’s New Intake Evening (Monday 6th July) and Transition days (Wednesday 8th and Thursday 9th July). We appreciate the disappointment that this will cause and are deeply saddened ourselves that we are unable to offer these opportunities this year. We are currently looking at ways of creating additional transition information that will be uploaded to our website.

This week we are writing to all students to advise of their Tutor, Band and House. Tutor groups are made up of students from mixed abilities who may be talented in sport or in the arts. When placing students into their respective tutor groups, a great deal of thought and consideration is given. Experience has shown us that whilst children may feel apprehensive about their new tutor groups, they very quickly settle and enjoy making new friends. Students are not taught in their tutor groups, however, the year group is split into X and Y bands. There is no difference between these bands, this is simply done for the sole purpose of timetabling. All students belong to one of three houses: Bredon, Kinver and Malvern. You can meet your tutors virtually via our Website.

Ordinarily the transition days provide us with an opportunity to get to know your son/daughter and would ask in the absence of this, they complete the ‘Getting to know me’ activity booklet that has been posted and return to us on the first day of term.

Our summer term commences Wednesday 2nd September 2020. Students should arrive at Trinity no later than 08.40 and make their way to the top hard play area where they will line up and meet their tutors. Students should line up behind their tutor group sign. Students will be collected by their tutors and escorted to either the main hall for an assembly or their tutor rooms for a virtual assembly). Students will spend the morning getting to know their tutor, doing their thumb print and receiving their timetables. This may be subject to change dependent on the guidelines given to schools regarding the start of the new year.  We will update you accordingly if necessary.  Please continue to visit our website ‘New Intake Section’ for up-to-date information.
