World Challenge Part III
Day 4
These next few days were what some of us were looking forward to the most. Turtles!
After a full day in Malacca we headed off to a small village community in Padang Kemunting – also known as turtle-friendly village – with a small stop at the supermarket on our way for the cooking we were about to have to do. We then arrived at our guesthouses, where our wonderful host brought us some coconuts and rambutan to try – some of us enjoyed them more than others!
The local volunteers for WWF Malaysia took us to the local community hall to give us a briefing on the importance of turtle conservation. We then had free time to go to the beach to have a swim in the sea where we created a bobbing circle. For dinner we cooked a vegetable curry with chapati, whilst some played competitive card games. These card games will definitely be handy for the rainforest!
