Parental Bulletin – 21st June 2024

MESSAGE FROM THE HEADTEACHER

Dear Parents/Carers,

As I write this week’s parent bulletin, the sun is finally shining through my office window and it actually feels like summer term, which is a good job as there’s been so much to enjoy outdoors this week. We’ve had cricket fixtures, district rounders tournaments and the Year 12 Psychology trip to London Zoo. It is always so humbling to witness the staff enjoying the experiences alongside the students and going the extra mile to create these kinds of opportunities for them beyond the classroom.

The end of this week also marks the end of the summer examinations for Years 11 and 13. I would like, on behalf of all the staff, to congratulate the students on reaching the end of their exams and for their hard work and efforts over the last few months. Next week the Year 11’s will celebrate their time at Trinity at the Year 11 prom and we look forward to sharing that special evening with them.

It is also the time of year where we are nearing the cut-off for earning house points towards the final celebration assembly of the year and it would be true to say that we have a fantastic VIP guest booked to come and speak with you all. We are keeping it all a surprise at the moment, but please can I ask parents/carers to save the date of the morning of Tuesday 16th July 2024 to come and celebrate with us.

Please can I remind parents/carers of our two standards themes of the summer term: namely uniform and punctuality.

Although it is warm, students should wear full school uniform. We will allow them to remove their blazers, but we will ask that they have them with them. Also, students should all be wearing their shirts tucked in and looking immaculate.

In terms of punctuality, students should be in their tutor groups at 8.40am. Students who are late do run the risk of their parents/carers facing legal action and we would really appreciate your support in ensuring students arrive to school on time. Over the past two weeks, the number of students late to school has reduced significantly so we really appreciate your support.

I look forward to writing to you next week and enjoy your weekend when it arrives.

YEAR 10 WORK EXPERIENCE

Thank you all with your efforts in helping and supporting your child with Work Experience.  We are striving to find placements for all our students, but the situation has proved to be a bit tricky out there in the world of work.

If your child has not received a letter yet about a placement and you are able to help out through family and friends, then that would be marvellous.

The dates are Tuesday, 3rd September – Friday 6th September with hours to suit. If you can send me the details that would be great. laxtonl@trinityhigh.net

Kind regards

Mrs Louise Laxton
