Parental Bulletin – 10 November 2023
MESSAGE FROM THE HEADTEACHER
Dear Parents/Carers,
Welcome back to the second half of autumn term. I hope you all had a lovely autumn half term break and you are looking forward to this beautiful and exciting time of year. There has been no chance to settle ourselves in this week as staff and students have started the term at a ferocious pace. The students have returned looking extremely smart and well turned out, but please can I remind you that now the weather has turned colder, students must wear their blazers and, if they choose to, (which most students do) they can wear a TRINITY V NECK JUMPER WITH A LOGO in addition to their blazers. Coats over the top of the blazer are absolutely fine, but hoodies or tracksuit tops are not. Please can I ask you to support us in getting this part of the uniform absolutely right.
In terms of attendance, this is the term where we must ensure exceptionally high attendance and develop our children’s attendance resilience around the time of year when the sniffles and other similar low-level illnesses are, unfortunately, par for the course. If students are really ill then, of course, must stay off school. However, we must work together to ensure that their attendance is as high as possible. Please see attached two posters to help you to decide whether to keep your child off school or not and how to contact our attendance team.
This week at Trinity we are particularly proud of our Year 11 and 13 students as they have maturely and diligently embarked on their first series of mock exams. This set of mocks will build their confidence, hone their exam craft and help teachers understand what they do and don’t know so we can tailor our teaching accordingly. The students have been a credit to themselves and the school.
Also on Friday 10th November, we will be pausing for 30 minutes between 10.45 and 11.15 to hold our annual remembrance service, honouring those that have, and continue, to serve for us and allow our lives to be as happy and safe as possible. We will capture some images of the service and post them on our social media to allow you to understand what a wonderful occasion it is.
May I finally remind parents/carers that our first formal EXCELLENCE FOR ALL REWARD ASSEMBLY is on TUESDAY 19TH DECEMBER in the morning. Please do your best to book the morning off work, particularly if you can see that your child’s house points are starting to build up and get anywhere near 50 or over!! We look forward to celebrating with you later this term.
I look forward to communicating to you during the term and thank you all for your ongoing support.
