MESSAGE FROM THE HEADTEACHER
Dear Parents/Carers,
Last week I wrote to you in the midst of our school production – ‘High School Musical’. For those of you who watched the show, I’m sure you’ll agree that it was a wonderful, highly enjoyable performance, and I’d like to take this opportunity to thank and congratulate everyone involved. It was a great example of our HEART values being lived to the full.
This week, the MFL department took a group of Year 10 students to Birmingham University to a ‘Pathways’ event. Here, students had the opportunity to look at a broad range of pathways available from Birmingham University and there was also a focus on Languages qualifications and the doors they open to future careers. The students thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to immerse themselves fully into university life.
Next week, a group of year 9 students are attending the County Careers Skills Show at Sixways Stadium Worcester. The students have been chosen because they have achieved a high number of House points, and so it is completely free of charge. This is part of their careers provision at Trinity and where they will meet employers from all over the county and get a chance to try out their skills and ask lots of questions. Another House event is the Readathon. Students are being challenged to read as many pages of a book per day as possible and there will be prizes and points for the individual and House winners!
In the world of Quality of Education, we are continuing our drive to challenge all students to find the joy in their learning, through stimulating curriculum and ensuring all students can make good progress in every subject area. This ties in with our behaviour focus which is on great manners and respect to all.
A reminder to Year 13 parents that there is an parents’ evening on Thursday, where you will get the chance to discuss progress and latest mock exam details. Can I also remind parents/carers that this terms EXCELLENCE FOR ALL celebration assemblies will be on the morning of TUESDAY 19TH MARCH. It would be lovely to see as many parents/carers as possible at the assemblies and the guest speaker is one not to be missed.
Finally, please can I continue to remind parents/carers of the rules around immaculate uniform. Students may only wear a Trinity jumper, and this should be in addition to and not replace the compulsory item of the blazer. During the cold conditions, students are more than welcome to wear a warm coat but no tracksuit tops or hoodies please.
I will write to you again next week, with updates on the highlights of the week. You can also find these on our Facebook page.
Enjoy your weekend.
Best Regards,
Mr Ford
Headteacher
