The transition from middle to high school is an exciting time, full of challenges and experiences for both parent and child. We work very hard to ensure maximum success for all our students, so they are ready for the challenges of high school, enjoying new friendships and the new opportunities high school brings. We also work closely with our feeder schools to ensure that we receive all the required information about our new students.

Towards the end of the Summer Term, we offer the opportunity for both students and parents to come into school, meet staff and begin their Trinity High School Journey. This year the dates are as follows:

New Intake Evening: Monday 6th July 2020

Transition Days: Wednesday 7th and Thursday 8th July 2020

Transition days provide students with a taste of life at Trinity. Students will spend days working with their new Tutor Group allowing them to get to know their tutor and make new friends. They will experience a varied programme of activities both in and out of the classroom.

Tutor groups are made up of students from mixed abilities who may be talented in sport or in the arts. When placing students into their respective tutor groups, a great deal of thought and consideration is given. Experience has shown us that whilst children may feel apprehensive about their new tutor groups, they very quickly settle and enjoy making new friends. Students are not taught in their tutor groups however the year group is split into X and Y bands. There is no difference between these bands, this is simply done for the sole purpose of timetabling.

COVID-19

We realise that this year, will be like no other and we are working incredibly hard to ensure that we are still able to offer a smooth transition in the current circumstances. Please note that our traditional New Intake Evenings and Transition Days are subject to change to ensure that we are working in line with the government recommendations ensuring the safety of students, parents, and our staff.
