Trinity High School has been chosen to lead a local campaign based on the national ‘This Girl Can’ initiative.

The Sports Partnership of Hereford and Worcester (SPHW) have developed the ‘Worcs Girls Can’ campaign over the last four years, working with schools and sporting organisations, designed to get women and girls moving, regardless of ability.

The campaign aims to facilitate the discovery and improve the accessibility of physical activity opportunities in school and across Worcestershire. This will allow promotion of positive mental health through association with physical activity and enable and promote positive experiences.

After a competitive process Trinity High School has been selected to represent the Redditch District of Worcestershire.

The celebration of girls and physical activity will run between 9th and 20th March 2020. During this time a number of sports clubs from the local area will help to transform girls PE lessons, by taking part in a range of activities from Hockey and Gymnastics to Dance and Rugby!

Miss Henman, who is organising the event said, “research suggests there are huge barriers for young women to take part in sport. This campaign aims to break down those barriers and address the issues which girls are facing right now. This campaign is a huge celebration of women and girls which we are aiming to develop all year round.”
