CHRISTMAS CONCERT

CHRISTMAS JUMPER DAY

Friday 20th December – Donation of £1.00 per child/jumper to be given to your child’s form tutor by Wednesday 18th December please.

CAREERS & GUIDANCE

16+ Progression Routes for Year 11 are now in full swing with extra help being given to students with applications. The aim is for Sixth Form and college applications to be in as soon as possible and then other routes to be applied for in the new year. UNIVERSITY GRANTS

Medicspot Innovation Grant, open to all UK students who will be going on to study a degree related to health, medicine, nursing or life sciences. The Medicspot Innovation Grant awards £500 to UK students going on to study a degree related to health, medicine, nursing or life sciences. Applications must be submitted online by 31st March 2020. PHOTOGRAPHY

Year 11 GCSE Photography students should attend after school or lunch clubs to complete their coursework due in by 20th December.  Please encourage your child to attend.  Targeted letters home will be sent out in due course. Clubs are Tuesday after school, Monday lunch, Friday lunch and Thursday after school if required (to be booked with Mrs Douglas at least the day before).

FUNDRAISING Thank you to all who donated or bought Ribbons for World AIDS Day. We sold over 50 ribbons and sent £35.00 to the National AIDS Trust. Special thanks to The Rainbow Alliance for helping.

HEALTH & SOCIAL CARE

A reminder about the Level 1 & 2 Hospitality and catering books available for £7.50 from Food department, these will help coursework which students are doing now and the exam in the summer.

In our drive to broaden our vocabulary, please find our new T2 Word of the week – EXPAND:

  • Their recyclable Christmas tree business expanded into seven new countries around the world (verb).
  • The student expanded on what actually happened at lunchtime (verb).
  • We want you to expand and then simplify the brackets in this Maths question (verb).
