PARENTAL BULLETIN – 6 SEPTEMBER 2019

OPEN EVENING

Thursday 19th September 6.00-8.00pm – In order to prepare for the Open Evening, students will be dismissed from school at 1.25pm. If you wish your child to remain in school, please let their Head of Year know and we will make arrangements to supervise them until 3.05pm. All FSM students will be able to take their allocation at break-time.

TEACHER TRAINING DAY

Friday 20th September – school is closed to students.

With the unseasonably hot weather approaching this week end please take note of this RLSS warning: The RLSS has appealed for people to take note of simple safety messages to avoid a repeat of last summer’s tragedies when many people lost their lives cooling off in unlifeguarded open water, not suitable for swimming. Around 400 people needlessly drown in the UK every year and thousands more suffer injury, some life changing, through near-drowning experiences. Putting this into context, one person dies every 20 hours in the UK and drowning is the third highest cause of accidental death of children in the UK. So, with temperatures high, it is important people make the most of the weather and enjoy the water but do so safely at sites designated for swimming.

Please also see attached poster outlining the four actions that could save your life.
